Tucker Carlson described Trump’s actions in Iran as “absolutely disgusting and evil.” Even before the attack on Saturday, he had warned against war because it would damage the economy and risk lives. Other members of the right-wing camp also criticized the USA’s involvement in the conflict.
On Monday, Carlson upped the ante again. “This is Israel’s war, not the United States’,” he said on his podcast. The war does not serve to increase the security of the USA or to make it richer.
Now Trump has responded to the criticism of his former supporter. “Tucker has lost his way,” he said loudly The Independent. «I’ve known this for a long time. And he’s not MAGA.” Because that is saving the country, making it great again and it means America First. “Tucker is none of those things. “He’s really not smart enough to understand that,” Trump said.
A toxic relationship
The right-wing extremist activist Laura Loomer also spoke out against Carlson. Tucker is actively interfering on behalf of the Iranian regime and is “trying to divide the MAGA base from within.”
Still, Carlson doesn’t seem to be completely done with Trump and MAGA (Make America Great Again). Rather, he portrays the dispute as a kind of toxic love-hate relationship. “There are times when Trump annoys me, and right now is definitely one of them. But I will always love him, no matter what he says about me,” he told a journalist.
Disagreement in the right-wing camp
Nevertheless, Carlson is not alone in his position among conservatives in the USA. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was once part of the MAGA movement and has now broken with Trump, also criticized the USA’s involvement in the Iran war. Other conservative Republicans have followed suit in recent days – adding further cracks to the MAGA movement. (front)
