The US Embassy in Israel announced that non-emergency personnel and all relatives of embassy employees could leave the country. The US State Department approved this “due to security risks,” it said.
Further restrictions for government employees and relatives are possible – for example, travel to certain areas of Israel could be prohibited. Individuals should consider leaving Israel while commercial flights are still available.
According to the New York Times, the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, recommended that all his employees who want to leave Israel do so today. He sent a corresponding email in the morning.
