In connection with the Epstein case, the Clinton couple have agreed to testify before the US Parliament. Bill Clinton is mentioned several times in the files. On Thursday, Hillary Clinton stood before the investigative committee, and Bill Clinton will be questioned on Friday.
Why are the Clintons being questioned?
The aim of the survey is to examine the case politically. The Clintons had previously refused to testify for months. When the investigative committee finally threatened proceedings for contempt of Congress, they agreed to answer questions. The head of the committee, James Comer, is therefore accused of political motivation. However, he stressed that they were not accused of any wrongdoing. It’s about clarifying how Epstein gained influence and wealth and who protected him, he told the media.
Democrats are demanding that other names be added to the survey lists. For example, US President Donald Trump. Comer said Trump has already answered hundreds, if not thousands, of questions about Epstein.
US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick also recently testified before the committee. It turned out that he had lied in previous statements about his relationship with Epstein.
What did Hillary say?
The six-hour survey was not public. However, certain things are known. “I answered all of your questions as completely as possible based on what I knew,” Clinton said after the questioning. Hillary says she never met or communicated with Epstein. She was never on his island or in his offices or houses and only knew Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell briefly.
Hillary Clinton was also asked about her husband. According to media reports, she stated that he knew nothing about Epstein’s machinations. At the same time, she emphasized that she herself wanted the truth to come to light. At the same time, Clinton criticized the fact that the Republicans on the committee had not summoned other people, for example Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.
The former foreign minister published a statement on her X-profile before the survey:
Bill Clinton’s questioning
On Friday, former US President Bill Clinton will also have to answer the questions. His name comes up often in the files. There are also photos of Clinton in this context.
He is also said to have used Epstein’s plane for a trip on behalf of the Clinton Foundation before Epstein was first convicted. However, there is no consensus on how often Clinton used Epstein’s plane. People around him say that this happened four times. But there are also reports of a significantly higher number. He reports that he flew on a private plane at least 17 times Independent.
According to BBC Ghislaine Maxwell is said to have introduced Bill Clinton to Epstein. More specifically, she is said to have communicated diligently with Clinton’s secretary and also made flattering and sexual innuendos.
Clinton said he regretted getting involved with Epstein. He also denies any criminal activity in connection with Epstein. He stated in advance that he had done nothing wrong. He has not yet released a written statement.
