A photo from the files surrounding the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which shows the world-famous scientist Stephen Hawking, has caused a stir and prompted the physicist’s family to comment.

In the photo, released by the US Department of Justice and reported by several media outlets, Hawking is seen accompanied by two women in bikinis. The photo was reportedly taken on Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James. Hawking had already visited the island in March 2006 as one of 21 scientists for a physics conference lasting several days.
The Hawkings family has now responded to a request from the British “Mirror”: Any suggestions of inappropriate behavior are “wrong and extremely far-fetched,” the statement says. The two women are his long-time carers.
Hawking’s name appears in Epstein files
Hawking and the convicted sex offender had contact on several occasions. Hawking’s name appears – among many others – in the Epstein files. However, there were never any concrete investigations against him.

Stephen Hawking is considered one of the most important scientists of his time. Among other things, he worked on the theory of relativity. Hawking died in 2018 – 50 years after he was diagnosed with the nerve disease ALS.
For years, Epstein ran an abuse ring that victimized dozens of young women and minors. The New York financier had excellent contacts in high society in the USA and many other countries. He died in his prison cell in 2019, before he was sentenced. In recent weeks, the US Department of Justice has published more than three million pages on the investigation against Epstein. US President Donald Trump also appears in the files.
