Several days after the arrest of former Prince Andrew, police have ended their searches at his former residence in Windsor.
The officers left the address in Berkshire, Thames Valley Police announced on Tuesday evening. The younger brother of King Charles III. was temporarily arrested last week in connection with his connection to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (66) had to move out of the Royal Lodge, a luxurious property on the grounds of Windsor Castle, during the scandal. Police investigated there for days after Andrew’s arrest. He is accused of misconduct in public office. In his previous role as a trade representative, he is said to have passed on information to the US financier Epstein. As part of their investigation, officers carried out searches at several addresses.
So far, the ex-prince, who has already been stripped of all important titles and military titles because of his connection to Epstein, has not commented on this. The British government announced on Tuesday that it would publish documents on the appointment of the former Prince Andrew as trade representative. (pre/sda)
