The Attorney General of the Canton of Valais, Béatrice Pilloud, has officially invited the public prosecutors of Rome to Sion in connection with the fire disaster in Crans-Montana VS. The date for this working meeting has not yet been finalized.
According to the Italian news agency Adnkronos, Pilloud sent a letter to the public prosecutor’s office in Rome on Monday expressing her willingness to receive the Italian investigators in Valais. This information was confirmed to Keystone-SDA on Tuesday afternoon.
The Valais public prosecutor’s office said it still needs to be agreed when the investigators will come to Sitten.
According to Pilloud, the Italian delegation will have access to all the documents collected so far, which they can view.
Last Thursday, Pilloud met with the Public Prosecutor General of the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, Francesco Lo Voi, at the Federal Office of Justice in Bern. Increased coordination between Switzerland and Italy was agreed upon as part of the investigation into the fire in Crans-Montana. (sda)
