A father is said to have shot his wife, his two children and himself in Germany. Police found the four bodies on Friday evening in an apartment in Strullendorf in Bavaria, officials announced on Monday.

The dead are the 52-year-old father, his wife, the 14-year-old son and the 6-year-old daughter.
The 52-year-old German owned several firearms and had a firearms license for them, the investigators said. It initially remained unclear what weapons were involved.
The background to the crime also still needs to be determined, the police and public prosecutor said. Among other things, traces would still have to be evaluated. There is currently no evidence that other people could have been involved in the crime.
According to the information, the family’s landlord called the police because he couldn’t reach his tenants and was worried. The officers found the four bodies in the apartment in an apartment building on Friday evening. (sda/dpa)
