The US military has continued its large-scale operation “Hawkeye Strike” against the terrorist militia Islamic State (IS) in Syria. Between February 3rd and 12th, ten strikes were carried out and more than 30 IS targets were targeted, the responsible regional command of the US military (Centcom) announced on the X platform.
The aim is to “maintain unrelenting military pressure on the remnants of the terrorist network”. The US armed forces attacked the terrorist group’s infrastructure and weapons depots with precision ammunition and used various types of aircraft.
Operation Hawkeye Strike was launched in response to a deadly attack on three Americans in Syria on December 13th. In the past two months, more than 50 IS terrorists have been killed or captured and over 100 targets of the terrorist militia have been attacked, it is said. (hkl/sda/dpa)
