According to the Epstein files, US President Donald Trump complained to the police about convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein years ago. Trump is said to have called the police in Palm Beach by telephone after the investigation against Epstein became known. This emerges from an interrogation protocol by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with a police officer.
Trump is said to have said that “people in New York know that Epstein is disgusting.” “Thank God you stop him, everyone knew for a long time that he was doing something like that,” the current president is said to have told the local police employee at the time.
Epstein kicked out of the club
The document is dated mid-October 2019 – it is unclear exactly when the dialogue between the police and Trump took place. Epstein died in custody in August 2019. According to the investigation file, Trump kicked Epstein out of his club and informed the responsible police.
The statement again raises questions about what Trump knew and didn’t know about Epstein’s actions. In the past, he had repeatedly denied knowing about the actions of the sex offender, who has now died. Pictures of Trump and Epstein had previously surfaced.
According to the transcript, Trump stated at the time that he immediately ran away when he encountered Epstein in the company of young people. Trump did not give a reason for this.
Also statements about Epstein confidant Maxwell
According to the files, Trump is said to have said about Ghislaine Maxwell, who was in custody, that she was “Epstein’s henchman”: “She’s evil, focus on her.” Maxwell was sentenced in 2022. As a long-time confidant of Jeffrey Epstein, she is said to have introduced girls and young women to him. She is serving a 20-year sentence and, according to media reports, is in a prison in Texas.
