The interviews will take place as soon as the health of the injured allows, as the Italian news agency Adnkronos wrote on Wednesday. The public prosecutor’s office is investigating negligent catastrophe, negligent multiple homicide, arson and serious bodily harm in violation of accident prevention regulations. Last week, judges ordered autopsies of the Italian victims.
In the second half of February there will be a first meeting between the public prosecutors from Rome and those from Valais in Switzerland to take stock of the investigation into the accident. According to the Italian news agency Ansa, this meeting is scheduled to take place on February 19th, unless there are any short-term changes.
Files requested
In the request for legal assistance submitted, the Italian prosecutors requested the files, the list of suspects, the documents relating to the controls and authorizations of the municipality, as well as the materials used in the bar “Le Constellation”, wrote Adnkronos.
As soon as the documents have been received in Rome, the couple who run the bar and, if necessary, other people should be entered in the register of suspects. An answer to the request to send an Italian investigation team to support the Swiss investigators in securing evidence is also still being awaited, it said. The next possible step would be to form a joint investigation team made up of investigators and investigative officers from the countries involved.
