Two agents involved in the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis have been placed on administrative leave. The killing has provoked public outcry across the US – and put the Trump administration on the backfoot as calls escalate for the removal of the head of the Department of Homeland Security. Despite saying he wanted to deescalate a little bit – President Donald Trump again ramped up the rhetoric on January 28 – accusing the mayor of Minneapolis of playing with fire. Meanwhile the community gathered for a candlelight vigil in the city to honour the life of Alex Pretti.
