In the end he lies there motionless. And unarmed. A video circulating on social media shows several officers from the ICE special unit beating a man.
Shots are fired. A voice from off can be heard: “The man is dead.” The video was presumably recorded from inside a store, through a glass pane.
There are still no official confirmations of the events. Nothing is known about the man’s condition.
According to information from a reporter Washington Post Federal officials block access to the crime scene. The area was cordoned off and officers used tear gas and hand grenades.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said on social media:

Walz, who politicizes for the Democratic Party, described the incident as “sick.” Minneapolis is the capital of Minnesota.
Walz called on US President Donald Trump to immediately withdraw federal officials from the city. “Minnesota has had enough of them.” And further: “Withdraw the thousands of violent, untrained officers from Minnesota. Now.”
The official account of the city of Minneapolis also confirmed the shooting on social media. Trying to get more information.
On January 7, ICE officers shot and killed Renée Good in her car, also in Minneapolis. The case caused great horror and protests.
The government described the action as self-defense, while Democrats and demonstrators spoke of excessive force and a lack of transparency in the process.
The ICE operations are part of the stricter deportation policy in the second term of US President Trump. According to the US government, around 3,000 people have been arrested since the increased operations began in Minnesota. Several lawsuits by local authorities against the actions of the federal authorities are currently pending in the courts.
