According to the Switzerland 2038 association, the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will take place in Switzerland in 2038. The organizing committee presented its plans to the public on Monday.
The association is in a “privileged” dialogue with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). With Switzerland’s candidacy, for the first time a country and not a single region or city would be the venue for the Olympic Games.
The project committee has budgeted expenses amounting to 2.2 billion francs, a large part of which will be borne by private individuals. According to the proposal, the public sector should contribute around 400 million francs, of which a maximum of 200 million francs should come from the federal government.
We want to know how Switzerland feels about the 2038 Olympics. Does the Swiss population want the games in their own country? What advantages and what concerns play a role? Take part in our survey and tell us what you think about it.
