The federal government has that in one Media release announced on Thursday morning. The competition authorities have received reports that there are significant increases in license prices for Microsoft products in Switzerland.
Applications from Microsoft 365 are particularly affected. These are the well-known software services such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, but also Teams or the AI assistant Copilot, which was launched last year.
The preliminary investigation is intended to examine whether “these increases represent indications of inadmissible restrictions on competition within the meaning of the Cartel Act, which could justify the initiation of a detailed investigation.”
