In Istanbul, a judge is said to have been shot by a public prosecutor. The 45-year-old was in her office at the regional appeals court when the 33-year-old man shot her, the state news agency Anadolu reported. There had been an argument beforehand.
The judge suffered a gunshot wound in the groin area. Her condition is not life-threatening, but she does need surgery. The alleged perpetrator was arrested.
He is being investigated for attempted murder. Both are said to have previously worked together at a court in Istanbul, Anadolu reported, citing the public prosecutor’s office. (sda/dpa)
