A small plane crashes in Lower Saxony. It hits the roof of a single-family home.

A small plane crashed into a house in the town of Ganderkesee, which has a population of 32,000. A dead person was found in the wreckage.
It is unclear whether there was another person in the plane alongside the pilot. According to the NDR and the “Kreiszeitung” in Syke, a search is being carried out in the rubble for a missing person; it is said to be an occupant of the plane.
Accident in Ganderkesee: 800 meters from the airport
The plane crashed into the roof of the family home shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday morning. The family that lives in the house was not at home at the time of the accident.
The police have not yet provided any information about the cause of the accident. Residents were evacuated from their homes within a 100 meter radius of the hit house. According to the police, this is a precautionary measure. There is no danger to the general public. Meanwhile, the fire department switched off the power in the affected street. Numerous police and fire departments were on site.
The plane that crashed is believed to be a single-engine Cessna. There is an airfield about 800 meters from the scene of the accident. The Ganderkesee airfield, also called Ganderkesee Atlas Airfield, is a commercial airfield.
Ganderkesee is located in the Oldenburg district. The city is located around 15 kilometers west of Bremen.
