Poland has issued a request for proposals to test drone interceptors.
The goal of the call for proposals is to select a developer and a product capable of primarily countering enemy reconnaissance and surveillance UAVs, as well as drone-based air strike capabilities. Proposals must be submitted by July 31, 2026.
The agency has specified detailed requirements for the platform’s performance; in particular, the minimum flight speed is 150 km/h, the range must not be less than 1.5 km, and it must be capable of detecting targets at a distance of at least 200 m.
The drone must operate in winds of up to 12 m/s, and the time from launch to combat readiness must not exceed 12 seconds.
The platform’s maximum takeoff weight is limited to 2 kg. Both the platform and the controller used to operate it must meet a minimum IP53 protection rating and operate at temperatures ranging from −10 to +40 °C.
An additional requirement is that the interceptors be manufactured in European Union or NATO countries. Software with a Polish-language interface is preferred.
The call for proposals is issued pursuant to Decision No. 123/MON of September 12, 2025, which regulates the organization and procedures for testing unmanned weapons and UAV countermeasures in the Polish Armed Forces.
The development of Polish kinetic UAV countermeasures is evident, given the addition of an ADS interceptor drone to the SKYctrl anti-drone system.
Similar tests were conducted with Polish UGVs in February of this year.
