US President Donald Trump’s media company reportedly wants to offer paying customers particularly quick access to posts from selected accounts on the social network Truth Social. The new service under the name “Truth API” should deliver contributions from the accounts with the highest reach in real time from August 1st, reported the US broadcaster CBS and the “Washington Post”, citing a statement from the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).
TMTG is best known as the operator of Trump’s online mouthpiece Truth Social, where he has almost 13 million followers. The US President has been the majority owner since its founding and, after moving into the White House, transferred his shares to his son Donald Trump Jr., who manages them in trust.

Trump uses Truth Social as the main communication medium of his presidency. He regularly announces political decisions and positions there, including on tariffs, monetary policy and international conflicts. His posts have repeatedly triggered reactions in the stock and commodity markets.
Trump founded the company in 2021 after major online platforms blocked his accounts following the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. These bans were later lifted. (hkl/sda/dpa)
