Currently having trouble deciding: US President Donald Trump.Image: keystone
US President Donald Trump now does not want to impose a general fee for the passage of the Strait of Hormuz after he recently floated this idea. This emerges from a post by the president on the Truth Social platform.
After “very productive” discussions with the leaders of various Middle Eastern countries, he decided to waive the 20 percent “United States Reimbursement Fee”. Instead, the Gulf states would make “HUGE” investments in the US that would benefit them “extraordinarily” in the future.

The Strait of Hormuz is open to all non-Iranian ships, while there is a complete blockade for Iranian ships.
“We are already seeing the largest investments “of all time” in America, and now there will be even more. Soon, factories, plants and equipment would flow to the United States “at a historic rate,” creating “millions of AMERICAN jobs.” Trump added that Iran will never have nuclear weapons.
The situation in the US-Iranian conflict therefore remains tense. Just recently, a large majority of the Iranian parliament called for blood revenge for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed by US attacks. Meanwhile, the US President has threatened an attack on an Iranian nuclear facility – this will probably happen “relatively soon,” he said in a radio interview on Monday (local time).
