Several people died in a fire in a multi-story residential building in the Belgian city of Antwerp on Wednesday. This is reported by the AFP news agency.
According to a police spokesman, several other people were seriously injured. The fire was not yet under control as of Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the fire department is currently looking for additional victims. More than 200 people live in the building. Many were brought out of the house with smoke inhalation.
The fire broke out around 10 a.m. in the apartment building in the port city. The cause is still unknown, said the spokeswoman. (hkl/sda/dpa)
