A Camorra Mafia boss who has been wanted for years has been arrested in a brick hideout in Naples. According to the officials, Ciro Andolfi, who is on the Italian Interior Ministry’s list of the 100 most dangerous criminals, was wanted with an arrest warrant. The officers caught him in an apartment in the Barra district of Naples.

The 49-year-old had been on the run since 2022. According to investigators, he still has to serve a prison sentence of eight years and a good three months, among other things because of his membership in a mafia organization, blackmail using mafia methods and corruption.
With Madonna and birdcage
A video published by the carabinieri shows the officers entering the building containing the wanted man’s apartment in the dark. Then a hole can be seen in the wall of a room. The hiding place was cleverly built into the wall: the entrance was covered by a radiator, which the officers removed.

Behind it – as the video shows – we walked along a corridor. According to the pictures, the Camorra boss also had a small birdcage and a Madonna figure in his hiding place.
Camorra gangs operate primarily in Naples and Campania. The Camorra consists of autonomous clans – unlike the Cosa Nostra, which is led from above. (sda/dpa)
