US President Donald Trump announced in a press conference at the White House on Friday evening that drug prices in the USA would fall drastically. 14 of the 17 major global pharmaceutical companies have agreed to adjust their pricing accordingly. These include the Swiss companies Novartis and Roche.
The directors of the two companies were present at the conference. Trump said: “This will have a huge effect on the health care system.” In particular, he personally thanked Novartis CEO Vasant Narasimhan.
