US President Donald Trump caused irritation and indignation with a comment on the death of US director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. Reiner reportedly died because he caused anger with his excitement about the US President, Trump wrote on his online mouthpiece Truth Social. “He was known for driving people crazy with his raging obsession with President Donald J. Trump.”
The statement received criticism from many quarters – including from within the party’s own ranks. “No matter how you feel about Rob Reiner, this is an inappropriate and disrespectful discourse about a man who was just brutally murdered,” wrote Republican US Congressman Thomas Massie on the online platform
Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically killed at the hands of their own son, who reportedly had drug addiction and other issues, and their remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak.

Reiner and his wife were found dead in their home in Los Angeles on Sunday. Your son is suspected of murder. Reiner became world famous with films such as “Stand By Me – The Secret of a Summer”, “Harry and Sally”, “Misery”, “The Princess Bride” and “A Question of Honor”. He was also active as a liberal activist – and had repeatedly sharply criticized US President Trump on numerous issues. (sda/dpa)
