It’s decided: Diarmuid Early from Ireland can call himself Microsoft Excel world champion.
The remaining 24 players competed against each other in the final on Thursday at the Hyper X Arena in Las Vegas. It was the highlight of the Excel Esports season (more on that later), which began in January.
Anyone who feels that “Excel” reminds them of boring tables and boring, long afternoons in computer science classes is completely on the wrong path here. Because:
This event has it all.
That’s right.

In the final task, which was inspired by origami, they had to Wrestler Players use their knowledge of software and answer 130 questions across seven levels.
What is Excel Esports?
The competition is not about finances, but about Microsoft Excel and logical thinking skills. The participants are given a task that looks like a puzzle and is written entirely in an Excel spreadsheet.
Diarmuid Early not only secured the title, but also around 4,000 francs in prize money. Also a title belt that could definitely rival the one from WWE WrestleMania.
