“The terrible and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience,” said 24-year-old Romy and her 34-year-old brother Jake. “They weren’t just our parents; “They were our best friends.”
The well-known US actor and director Reiner and his wife were found dead on Sunday in their home in Los Angeles in the upscale residential area of Brentwood in the west of the metropolis. A few hours later, her youngest son Nick Reiner was arrested – on suspicion of murder. The public prosecutor’s office has officially filed charges against the 32-year-old.
Reiner children ask for respect and privacy
The siblings did not directly address the allegations against their brother Nick Reiner in the statement. They asked only for respect and privacy and that “speculation be tempered with compassion and humanity so that our parents are remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.”
Rob Reiner first became famous as an actor in the 1970s through his role in the television series “All in the Family”. In 1984 he made his first film as a director, “This Is Spinal Tap”.
