Amid severe tensions, Pakistan has again carried out airstrikes on Afghan soil, according to reports from Afghanistan.

Ten civilians were killed in the attacks in three provinces in the east of the country, said the spokesman for the Islamist Taliban ruling Afghanistan, Sabihullah Mujahid, on the X platform.
Pakistan has not yet officially commented on the attacks. However, intelligence circles confirmed several air strikes on Afghan soil to the DPA news agency.
The airstrikes follow a bloody conflict between the two countries that flared up last month. The Taliban blamed Pakistan for explosions in the capital Kabul in early October, after which Taliban security forces attacked Pakistani military checkpoints in Pakistan’s border provinces. Heavy fighting broke out.

Through the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, a ceasefire was agreed in October – but no comprehensive agreement was reached between the two neighboring countries. Islamabad accuses Kabul of providing protection to the Pakistan Taliban Movement (TTP), which has carried out repeated attacks in Pakistan. Kabul denies this.
Attacks in Afghanistan after attack in Pakistan’s capital
The latest airstrikes follow two suicide bombings in Pakistan this month. Just on Monday, three soldiers were killed in an attack in the city of Peshawar in the northwest of the country. Before that, there was a rare suicide attack in the Pakistani capital Islamabad in mid-November, killing twelve people. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif then announced the possibility of new air strikes in Afghanistan.
Taliban spokesman Mujahid said in the morning that Afghanistan “strongly condemns this aggression and this crime.” He announced a reaction from Kabul: Afghanistan sees “the defense of its airspace, its land and its people as its legitimate right” and will “show the necessary reaction at the appropriate time.” (sda/dpa)
