Mamdani, Cuomo or Sliwa? New Yorkers on their choice for mayor

New York City is electing its next mayor on Tuesday in a closely-watched race with national implications.

Zohran Mamdani, the state assembly member and Democratic candidate is the frontrunner. He is facing Republican Curtis Sliwa, and former governor Andrew Cuomo, who is attempting a comeback since he lost to Mamdani in the Democratic primary.

The BBC asked New Yorkers what they’re looking for in the candidates, and who they think could deliver it.
