The insolvency administrator of the insolvent Signa Group, founded by the Austrian entrepreneur René Benko, is selling the Signa trademark rights and numerous Internet domains to the highest bidder.
For example, trademark rights and domains for real estate projects in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart or on Lake Garda are up for auction, as the auction house Aurena announced on Monday. But internet domains such as ohnebenko.com or Nichtmitbenko.de as well as signa.at are also going under the hammer.
From 5000 euros
The Signa brands will also be auctioned with a minimum offer of 5,000 euros, Signa Holding (starting price 1,200 euros) and Signa Development (200 euros), as Aurena further announced. Offers for a total of 179 positions can already be submitted and the awards will be made on January 16th.
The holding company of ex-billionaire René Benko’s complex real estate and trading group Signa slipped into bankruptcy in November 2023. The Swiss department store Globus was also affected by this. In March 2024, Benko also filed for personal bankruptcy and has been in custody in Austria since January 2025.
The public prosecutor’s office is pursuing a whole series of investigations in connection with the bankruptcy of Benko’s Signa Group and his personal bankruptcy. The entrepreneur has already been convicted of bankruptcy offenses in two trials. (sda/awp/afp)
