In the case of the killed eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow, the Rostock district court has confirmed the arrest warrant against the suspect. The spokesman for the Rostock public prosecutor’s office, Harald Nowack, said this after a detention hearing.
The detention review date is based on a request from the suspect’s lawyer, Andreas Ohm. He had complained that the arrest warrant against his client was based only on circumstantial evidence, not evidence. In addition, the murder weapon has not yet been found.

Fabian murder case: “Suspicion rather condensed”
In an interview with t-online at the end of November, senior public prosecutor Harald Nowack emphasized that circumstantial evidence could also be possible evidence. Regarding the investigations so far, he said:
“The suspicion has increased since the arrest rather than weakened.”
One day before the detention hearing, another witness statement caused a stir: As broadcaster RTL reported, an acquaintance of the suspect claimed that she had led him to the pond near Klein Upahl the night before the body was found. It was important to her that the two of them went there in his car, he claimed in an interview with the TV station.

She then stopped at the upper edge of the pond while he went to the body with a flashlight. He didn’t recognize Fabian, but he was aware that he was standing in front of a corpse. At her instructions, he shone the light on the dead child’s face again, whereupon she told him it was Fabian.
Eight-year-old Fabian disappeared on October 10th. His body was discovered four days later on the bank of a pond in Klein Upahl, around 15 kilometers away. The accused was arrested in Reimershagen on November 6th under strong suspicion of murder. Her pickup truck was impounded.
