White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles made surprisingly blunt and harsh judgments about her boss, US President Donald Trump, in interviews with Vanity Fair magazine. He had the “personality of an alcoholic,” said Wiles.

The magazine does not quote the entire sentence from the conversation at this point, but only this fragment. The White House initially did not respond to a request from the German Press Agency (dpa).
Wiles also said of Trump: “He acts with the conviction that there is nothing he cannot do. Nothing, absolutely nothing.”

As chief of staff, Wiles is one of the most influential figures in Trump’s circle. Their statements, which have now been published before the president has completed the first year of his second term in office, are all the more surprising. Wiles is considered a close confidante of Trump and has accompanied him in various positions over the years.
Wiles on Vance: Conspiracy theorist for a decade
With regard to Trump’s actions against critics and political opponents, she said that one could certainly get the impression that these were retaliatory actions. However, that is not the case, she continued. “I don’t think he wakes up in the morning and thinks about revenge. But if the opportunity presents itself, he will take it.”
In its article, Vanity Fair lists eleven times when discussions were held with Wiles. Sometimes only sentence fragments are reproduced instead of entire sentences.

Wiles also spoke to Vanity Fair about other important people in Trump’s environment. Vice President JD Vance, for example, has been “a conspiracy theorist” for a decade. Elon Musk is an “avowed ketamine user,” while Justice Minister Pam Bondi “completely failed” in handling the Epstein files. (sda/dpa)
