Belgium (Brussels Morning Newspaper) Today, Commission President, Ursula Von der Leyen addressed the European Parliament during her annual ‘State of the Union’. Despite huge challenges and fine words, Von der Leyen did not quite live up to our expectations as financial chaos is looming due to the rising energy prices and the heart breaking war in Ukraine. Put this on top of the current rule of law crisis and natural disasters, and everyone realises a strong European and united reaction is imminent.
