The amount of customs revenue now stated is still slightly higher than the amount previously stated by the government. Last week, the US Border Protection Agency (Customs and Border Protection) spoke of a good $200 billion in customs revenue. These were taken between Trump’s second inauguration on January 20th and December 15th. So from Trump’s inauguration to the time of publication.
Typically, the U.S. Treasury Department uses the fiscal year for its calculations. This begins on October 1st of the year and ends on September 30th of the following year.

In fiscal year 2025, the USA made $195 billion in customs revenue. This comes from one Ministry of Finance report out. 77 billion were collected in fiscal year 2024. In July 2025, Finance Minister Scott Bessent had envisaged 300 billion in customs revenue at the end of 2025. (sda/dpa/nib)
