Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has done what most Republican Party officials feared USA flinch: She has Donald Trump publicly contradicted it – especially on the subject of the publication of the Epstein files.

After the public falling out, Taylor Greene turned his back on the MAGA movement. However, she immediately received a receipt for this from Donald Trump: he publicly called her a “traitor” on his online platform and changed her last name to Marjorie “Traitor” Greene.
Taylor Greene spoke about the events on the US show “60 Minutes”. She reported that many in the party were gossiping about him behind Trump’s back. If she told all the details, “it would shock people,” explained Taylor Greene. She often noticed how many of her party colleagues made fun of the president – especially about the way he talked.
“MPs are terrified of Trump”
Before it became apparent that Trump could return to the White House for a second term, she said she was “constantly ridiculed” for supporting him. When he won the Republican primary in 2024, the same people who had mocked him “then crawled up his ass,” said Taylor Greene. But behind the president’s back, “the talk is completely different.”
Behind the scenes, many Republicans are said to be speaking very differently about Donald Trump.Image: keystone
The show’s host then asked whether Republicans were afraid of Trump. Taylor Greene assured that she believes many MPs are terrified of stepping out of line – and then having to read a “nasty post on Truth Social” about them.
Even though there has been a falling out between Taylor Greene and Trump, that does not mean that she has broken away from her party’s right-wing conservative line. She is no longer “MAGA” – Trump’s slogan “Make America Great Again” – and now only “America First” applies to her. Something that she believes Trump has lost sight of.
Death threats against the family
In her resignation video, the 51-year-old accused the president of betraying his promises to his core voters, the “MAGA” supporters. She particularly addressed Trump’s support of the crypto industry and the pharmaceutical industry. Taylor Greene already opposed the official White House line in the Gaza war and publicly described the Israeli actions as genocide.
When it came to Epstein, she was a driving force behind the publication of the files. The president had previously wanted to make it clear to her that publication would “hurt people.” For them, however, it is the women – some as young as 14 or 16 years old – who were raped and therefore have a right to see the files publicly.
After the falling out, the Republican also received a series of death threats, which Taylor Greene attributes to Trump’s public denunciations. There were bomb threats against her home and even personalized death threats against her son – with the same words that Trump had used: “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene.” After she informed the president about it, all she received was an “extremely unfriendly” response.
