It was only on the night of Saturday that Aykut Anhan (39), as arrest warrant’s real name is, gave his eagerly awaited first concert in Osnabrück after the release of the Netflix documentary “Babo – The Arrest Warrant Story”. In the much-discussed documentary it is discussed that the musician consumed cocaine for years. In Osnabrück he assured the fans: “I’m clean.” Even there he was only on stage for about half an hour.
Euro notes for the audience – but no words
The La Louve club in Giessen was also well filled on Sunday night when arrest warrant took the stage shortly after 2 a.m. Unlike in Osnabrück, he didn’t speak to the fans. During the performance, arrest warrant instead threw euro notes into the audience. Once again, the rapper kept most of his face covered up to his eyes. He also wore sunglasses.
The Netflix documentary about the arrest warrant received millions of views just a few days after its release at the end of October and shot to number one in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It revolves around his difficult family history, street crime, fame, depression, almost fatal drug use – and spans an arc from his childhood in Offenbach’s high-rise Mainpark district to his rise to the top of the charts as a hip-hop star.
