Six nudists from Florida stripped naked on a beach that wasn’t actually intended for nude bathing. Now they have to answer in court.

The local sheriff’s office reported the incident in a post on Facebook, where it also shared photos and names of the six people. According to US media reports, those arrested were four men and a woman aged 60 to 77 and a man aged 27.
The regular nude beach “Blind Creek Beach” in the St. Lucie district is currently closed due to asphalting work in the parking lot area. The group therefore apparently went to the nearby “Little Mud Boat Ramp” – a section a good kilometer away that is not approved for sunbathing without clothing.
“The ongoing renovation of Blind Creek Beach may be inconvenient for beachgoers – but it does not justify using other public areas as an extension of the official nude beach,” the authority said. There have already been numerous complaints from residents and beach guests about people exposing themselves at the boat ramp without permission.
Accused people have to answer in court
According to the sheriff’s office, all six defendants were held on bail of $500 each US dollars released. They have to stand trial for “indecent exposure in public and exposure of sexual organs”. You face a fine and a prison sentence of up to one year.
«Our clothing-optional beach is clearly marked. Anyone who publicly exposes themselves elsewhere is violating our state and county statutes,” a sheriff’s department spokesman told local station CBS12.
One woman told the station that she found naked people on the wrong beach “strange,” especially because of the proximity to families. The sign on site is clear: “You must be clothed or in a swimsuit.” Others viewed the officers’ action of handcuffing the nudists as an overreaction.
