Hostage taking in a bank in Germany – large-scale police operation underway

A major police operation is underway in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. “This morning around 9 a.m. the police were informed about a hostage-taking in a Volksbank branch in Sinzig city center,” said the police. A local police spokesman told t-online that a cash-in-transit truck was standing in front of the bank’s door. The driver of this van is believed to have been taken hostage. There is no further information available yet.
