Actress Collien Fernandes has decided to no longer remain silent. She went public with the serious allegations against her ex-husband Christian Ulmen a few weeks ago. Since this step she has received a lot of reactions, she says in an interview with “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. She receives hate messages and threats. She admits: “I felt better before the ad than now.”
She explains: “The first pain is the act, the second is the stigmatization that follows as soon as you open your mouth. You are a vengeful ex who lies.” And further: “I understand more and more why so many women don’t report something like this. You often hear in this context: I can’t stand what will happen next.”
She believes that’s why so many people – especially women – are angry. “Because everyone has either experienced it themselves or knows a victim, but somehow no one knows a perpetrator. The accused men always claimed not to have been. They’re all feminists.”
But it would take these strong feelings. “I think we need this outcry from people out there to say: Enough is enough, real feminism by men and not pseudo-feminism,” says Collien Fernandes.
Can Collien Fernandes still trust men?
In the conversation, Collien Fernandes is asked whether she can still trust men after her alleged experiences with her ex-husband. Her answer: “I feel like I only really got to know my former spouse after many years, actually only after 15 years. And if 15 years isn’t enough to really know someone, then how long should I date?”
She describes that after separating from her ex-husband, she “immediately had another bad experience with another man.” “So something really broke inside me. “I still believe that I can now trust again and don’t have a blanket mistrust of every man,” says the 44-year-old.
Collien Fernandes accuses her ex-husband Christian Ulmen of having created fake profiles in her name for years and using them to communicate with numerous men. According to the 44-year-old, he is said to have distributed digitally generated pornographic content that resembled her. So far, the presumption of innocence applies.
