According to official information, a factory in the western Russian city of Voronezh was damaged in a cruise missile attack.
“At the moment it is known that there are three injured people, one of whom is seriously injured,” wrote Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev on Telegram. According to his account, the anti-aircraft defense discovered and destroyed several “flying high-speed targets” over the city, but at the same time he also admitted damage to the production halls of a company. In addition, the facades of several apartment blocks and a number of cars were damaged, he wrote.
Factory is said to have manufactured parts for cruise missiles
Gusev did not disclose any details about the company. According to media reports, it is a factory that produces transistors and other electronic components. These are also said to have been used to build cruise missiles that Russia uses in its attacks on Ukrainian cities. The images and videos circulating on social networks indicate serious damage to the plant.

There is still no official information about what type of cruise missiles Ukraine has deployed. Voronezh is just over 180 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for more than four years. To this end, in recent months it has increasingly resorted to attacks on strategically important objects in the enemy’s hinterland. (sda/dpa)
