US President Donald Trump has dampened hopes of a quick agreement with Iran. “The negotiations are proceeding in an orderly and constructive manner, and I have instructed my representatives not to rush the deal because time is on our side,” he wrote on the Truth Social platform, referring to the status of the framework agreement to end the Iran war. Both sides have to take their time and do everything right, Trump wrote. “There can be no mistakes!”
On Saturday, Trump said that a framework agreement had been “largely” negotiated. He added that this was subject to final completion by the USA, Iran and other countries.
Trump now wrote that the US blockade of Iranian ports will remain in full force until an agreement is reached, confirmed and signed. The relationship with Iran is becoming more professional. However, the Islamic Republic must understand that it is not allowed to have nuclear weapons. (sda/dpa)
