On Saturday evening (local time) there were several dozen shots fired in the immediate vicinity of the White House. A suspected attacker fired several shots on the north side of the government building. The security forces present responded and fatally injured the man.
There is a press area on the lawn on the north side of the White House. There, reporters and correspondents can record videos, make live broadcasts to their studios and set up their equipment, such as lights and cameras, in small tents. At the time of the shooting, several reporters were on site in these tents doing their work. Among them were three reporters who work as White House correspondents for their respective media companies. Check out their reactions to the shooting in the video:

Selina Wang is a reporter for ABC News and was recording video for ABC’s social media channels when the shooting occurred.
Julie Tsirkin is a reporter for NBC television and was visibly confused when shots were fired behind her.
Aaron Navarro is a White House Reporter for CBS News. He has already covered the US elections in his past as a journalist and is therefore not a new face in journalism in and out of the White House.
None of the three reporters mentioned above were injured. They were brought to safety from their news stations by the security forces present and were then able to return to report on the events. (nib)
