Over 38 million people in Europe cannot afford a week’s holiday despite being employed, according to the European Trade Union Confederation. It listed Romania, Greece and Lithuania as the EU states were most workers will not be able to take a week’s break. Meanwhile, Italy (8m) , Spain (4.6m) and France (4.1m) have the highest number of workers missing out on a break for financial reasons, it said.
